An 8 page paper which examines the author’s use of such fiction elements as character, plot, point of view, setting, symbolism and irony, considering how each contributes and reinforces the story’s theme. Also discussed is a personal opinion of the story, along with critical opinions which support and dispute this contention, and also considers how the author reflects the time period (and the place) in which the story was written, portrays men and women, ponders whether or not her gender is reflected, and offers a response to the work.
